THOMPSON, Ida L. – of Birch Run, age 84, died Sunday, August 12, 2012 at her residence. Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Friday, August 17, 2012 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose. Rev. John Sarge officiating. Burial will be in Montrose Township Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 11 AM until time of services at 1 PM. Contributions may be made to the family.
Ida was born March 6, 1928 in Flint to the late Andrew and Mary (Smallwood) Green and lived in Montrose since 1977 coming from Dallas, TX. She retired from Van Camps in 1977. Ida enjoyed painting, sewing and doing crossword puzzles.
Surviving are: children, Dennis (Sabeena) Thompson of GA, George Thompson of Birch Run, Vicki (Ray) Baumgardner of TX, Lori Thompson (Rick Cox) of Flushing, Michael Thompson of VT, Wendy (Christopher) Whitcomb of TX; 10 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by: 5 sisters, Viola, Kate, Mary, Ann and Lola; 2 brothers, Bill and Edward; daughter in law, Judith Thompson.
