LUCE, Lyle D. - Of Flint, age 75, went home to greet his wife and son on Tuesday, September 11, 2012 at Avalon Hospice. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, September 17, 2012 at Swartz Funeral Home 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Daniel Rose officiating. Burial in Crestwood Cemetery.Those desiring may make contributions to the American Cancer Society. Visitation 1-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
Mr. Luce was born in Owosso, Michigan on September 29, 1936 and grew up in Flushing. He married Janet Clark on June 17, 1963 and she preceded him in death on May 31, 2012. He served in the U.S. Army. For over 30 years, he trained and raced horses and was a member of the Harness Race Horse Association. Mr. Luce retired from General Motors.
Surviving are his
2 children, Paula (Tim) June, Michael (Nancy)Luce;
7 grandchildren, Benjamin and Tamara Miller, Jeff Norman, Brandi, Charles, Leann and Natalie Luce;
daughter-in-law, Delane Luce;
sister, Joyce (Don)Pertler.
He was also preceded in death by his son, Chuck; grandson, Andrew Miller; brothers, Carl and Bob; and sister, Linda.
