PAPES, Elizabeth Jane “Betty”. – of Flint, age 80, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 18, 2020 at her home, with her husband, son, and daughter by her side. The family will receive visitors at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio on Monday, January 20, 2020 from 2PM until 8PM. Funeral Mass will be announced.
Betty was born on June 15, 1939 in Flint, Michigan, daughter of the late Stanley and Mary (Sadlarik) Kuskey. She graduated from St. Mary’s School in Flint. Betty married Steve Papes on July 12, 1957, and they enjoyed 62 years together. She worked in the funeral industry for 25 years, starting at Brown Funeral Home, and later went on to Reigle Funeral Home before finishing her time with Sharp Funeral Homes.
Surviving are: Loving husband, Steve Papes; Children: Gloria, Mike, Carl, and Brenda; Granddaughters: Sarah, Michelle, Sabrina, and Olivia; Great granddaughter, Piper. Betty was also preceded in death by her son, Michael. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Medical Team Hospice, especially: Claudia, Jennifer, Julie, Ann, and Ty for all their love and care.
