Lynn C. Chase age 87 of Durand, passed away Wednesday, July 24, 2024 at his home. Funeral will take place 1:00 PM on Thursday, August 1, 2024 at the Crossing Free Methodist Church of Durand. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow to Greenwood Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes, Durand Chapel.
Lynn Carleton Chase was born August 30, 1936 in Fowlerville, MI son of Eugene and Florence (Warner) Chase. On October 12, 1963 he married Linda Schott. Lynn volunteered at the Durand Depot, and at his church as an usher, Sunday school teacher and as a youth director. He enjoyed bird watching, westerns, traveling to Florida in the winter, camping, roller-skating, playing softball, wood carving and John Deer tractors. Lynn loved God and loved his family above anything else. Prior to his retirement in 1996, he had been employed by General Motors for 32 years.
Lynn is survived by his wife, Linda Chase; children, Lisa (David) Barker, Lana Orrison and Larissa (David) Howey; grandchildren, Christopher, Brandon, Quentin (Shylah), Ashlynn, Skyler (Brooklynn), Tristan and Elaina; great grandchildren, Kyra, Aerabella, Ember, Mason, Jaxson and Jessielynn; and sister, Audrey Baize. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Dorine Raines and Lauralynn McDonald; and his parents, Eugene and Florence Chase.
