BURNHAM, Leland Wendell "Lee" - Age 69, of Swartz Creek, died November 23, 2019 in Dade City, FL. Funeral services will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, November 30, 2019 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Rev. Randy Terrell officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM and Saturday from 12 PM until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to Wounded Warrior Project, Swartz Creek Senior Center, or a charity of one's choice.
Lee was born May 3, 1950 in Flint, the son of Colland Wendell and Verlaine Patricia (Lee) Burnham. He was a graduate of Durand High School. He was a Vietnam Veteran serving in the U.S. Army. Lee married Margaret "Peg" Hart February 24, 1973 in Swartz Creek. He retired from Glasers Lumber after 34 years; and was previously employed by the Swartz Creek Elevator and Lumber. He also was co-owner of The Craft Connection. He was a 4-H Leader for the Swartz Creek Silver Spurs and the Swartz Creek Rocking Rabbits, and was the Assistant Superintendent of the Rabbit Tent at the Genesee County Fair. He also was a member of St. Mary Queen of Angels Catholic Church and the Swartz Creek American Legion Post #294. Lee enjoyed woodworking, camping, and fishing.
Surviving are: his wife of 46 years, Margaret "Peg"; children, Leland W. Burnham II of Davison, Lisa Marie (Charles) Leibrand of Mason, and Daniel George (Kelly) Burnham of DeWitt; grandchildren, Andrew, Alexander, Zachary, Lucas, Elizabeth, Emma, and Thomas; siblings, Galland Lee Burnham of North Branch, Colleen Sue (Carl) Cole of Owosso, and Allen Duane (Bonnie) Burnham; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, and uncles.
