James E. Steinborn of Flushing, age 83, died Wednesday, January 23, 2013 at Concerned Country Care, Montrose. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Monday, January 28, 2013 at St. Robert Catholic Church, 310 N. Cherry St., Flushing. Fr. Paul Schwermer will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Robert Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Rossell Funeral Home and from 10 a.m. until time of the Mass Monday at the church. A Vigil for the Deceased will be 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Jim was born in Flint, MI on July 20, 1929, the son of John and Pearl (Hayden) Steinborn. He married Betty M. Sapak in Saginaw on April 27, 1957. She preceded him in death on October 19, 2001.

Jim owned Central Printing in Flint. He proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Jim graduated from Flushing High School in 1948 and was an avid Flushing High School sports fan for over 70 years. He was a Master Gardener and throughout his life, he enjoyed entertaining his friends and family by his pool.

Jim is survived by: three children, Paul and wife Jan Steinborn of Flushing, Geralyn and husband Jack Lynch of St. Louis, MO, Gail Steinborn of Chicago, IL; son-in-law, Steve Koeller of Petoskey; ten grandchildren, Blake, Grant and Tate Steinborn, Hannah and Natalie Koeller, Maddy, Rayce and Chase Lynch, Riley and Megan Masterson; several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; several nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Jane Ann Koeller, and sister, Joyce Haist.
