BALASKO, Sharon Lee - age 86 of Grand Blanc, passed away, Monday, March 2, 2020. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Friday, March 6, 2020 at the Father Bush Parish Center (a part of Holy Family Catholic Church), 110 Bush St, Grand Blanc. Fr. Peter Lawrence celebrant. Interment at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Visitation will be 4-8 PM Thursday at Sharp Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Flint, where a vigil service will be held at 7 PM. Visitation will also be held 10 AM until the time of Mass Friday at Church. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the Holy Family Catholic Church Outreach Program.
Sharon was born December 20, 1933 in Flint, the daughter of Charles M. and Mary (Neubert) Parr. She married Vincent F. Balasko in Flint on November 24, 1951. Sharon was a graduate of Grand Blanc High School. She was a life long member of Holy Family Catholic Church. Sharon was a music teacher and an accomplished accordion player and instructor. She was an avid swimmer and loved animals. Sharon enjoyed assisting her late daughter Marcia at her Dance Studio and serving as her stage manager at her productions at the Whiting Auditorium. The highlight of he life was her granddaughters.
She is survived by: children, Denise Balasko, Vince (Mary) Balasko, and Christopher Balasko; granddaughters, Tyler (Wendel) DeVoe-Millsted, Barbie (Cory) Fernelius, Bridgette (Robert) Frost, and Brystol (Alex) Rumschlag; great grandchildren, Andon Frost, Abby Frost, and Ellery Fernelius; and life long friends, Carolyn "Pinky" Hall and Carol Puzycki.
Sharon was preceded in death by: her parents; husband, Vincent F. Balasko; daughter, Marcia DeVoe; and brother Charles Parr. Online tributes may be shared at www.sharpfuneralhomes.com. |
