Novar, Wanda of Flushing, age 96, died Monday, November 28, 2011 at her home. Funeral Mass will be 12 p.m. Friday, December 2, 2011 at St. Robert Catholic Church. Fr. Andrew Czajkowski will officiate. Burial will follow at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Thursday at Rossell Funeral Home and 11 a.m. until the time of Mass, Friday at the church. A Rosary will be prayed 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Genesee County or the American Heart Association.
Wanda was born in Flint, Michigan on September 11, 1915, the daughter of Albert and Sophia (Greber) Delecki. She married Lewis Novar on August 6, 1938 in Flint, Michigan at All Saints Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on July 15, 1986. Wanda was a member of St. Robert Catholic Church and former member of the seniors group at St. Robert. Wanda was employed at GM Otterburn in the executive dining room. She enjoyed talking and socializing with people.
Wanda is survived by her two sons, Thomas and wife Lynda Novar of Fenton. James and wife Mary Novar of Lake Isabella; grandchildren, Daniel (Ann Marie) Novar of Bloomingdale, IL, Michael (Traci) Novar of Ann Arbor, Francie Lynn Novar of Ann Arbor, James (LeeAnn) Novar of Rochester, IL, Colby (Monica) Novar of Kalamazoo, Kimberly (Keith) VanLoozenoord of Middleville, Kelli (Marcus) Todd of Mecosta, Kevin (Deanna) Fountain and Jody (Bill) Childs, all of Lake Isabella; 15 great-grandchildren; brother, Stanley Delecki of Fenton; sisters-in-law, Laura Delecki, Helen Damsen; several nieces and nephews.She was also preceded in death by four sisters, Caroline Bednarski, Emily Lesley, Helen Walker and Virginia Legault; four brothers, Johnny, Walter, Albin and Eugene Delecki. A special thank you to Kenneth Delecki, Patsy Mishina, Janie Stephenson and Mary Dozier for all of their care and compassion.
