IJAMES, Betty Louise - Of Flint, age 89, died Saturday, June 29, 2019 at Caretel Inns of Linden.
Funeral service will be held 11am July 3, 2019 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,
Jeff Bailey officiating.
Burial in Flint Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Emmanuel Baptist Church.
Visitation 3-8pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
Betty was born in Flint on December 9. 1929, the daughter of the late Frank and Bessie (Hatherly) Retherford. On September 11, 1948, she married Calvin Ijames and he preceded her in death on February 20, 2011. Betty enjoyed sewing, crafts, and canning vegetables. She loved Christmas and watching all the children.
Surviving are children, Dennis and Kathy Ijames, Sally and Phil Magsig and Pam and Mike Russell;
grandchildren, Andy and Allison Ijames, Kelly and Mike Roeper, Ben and Brittany Magsig, Bailey Magsig and Colton Russell;
great-grandchildren, Julian Ijames, Autumn Roeper, Calvin Roeper, Kate Roeper and Nora Roeper.
and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by son, Douglas, infant granddaughter, Jessica Russell in 1991.
