MUSSON, KATHRYN MARIE “KATHIE” – Of Clio, age 81, passed away peacefully Monday, March 3, 2025 at Maple Woods Manor.
Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 8, 2025
at North Baptist Church, 4004 Lennon Road, Flint, Pastor Harold Burkholder officiating.
Burial in West Vienna Cemetery.
Contributions may be directed to North Baptist Church.
Visitation 3 p.m. – 8 p.m. Friday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. Visitation 1 p.m. Saturday at church until the time of the service.
Kathryn was born in Flint, Michigan on April 20, 1943, the daughter of the late Robert and Helen (Hall) Taliaferro. She graduated from Beecher High School in 1961. On September 15, 1962, she married James Musson. They had three children and celebrated 60 years together. In addition to being a mother, she thoroughly enjoyed working as a neonatal nurse at McLaren Hospital for many years. She adored children and was always babysitting for friends. She also served as a foster parent for several children over the years. When her grandchildren were born, she retired to help care for them. Later in life, she adored and doted on her three great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed traveling (especially to Mackinac Island), cross-stitch, knitting, crocheting, sewing, crossword puzzles, and being involved at church (especially singing to and rocking babies in the nursery).
Surviving are children, Drew Musson, Amy (Darrin) Storms, and Jeff (Dawn) Musson; grandchildren, Chelsea (Brandon) Worden and Ben Storms (fiancee Madelyn Gwyn); great-grandchildren, Magdalena Kathryn, Theodore, and Julian Worden; sister, Marybeth (Dell) Schipper; brother, Robert (Susan) Taliaferro; sisters-in-law Kathy Taliaferro and Patricia Nethaway Sisson; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brother, Timothy Taliaferro.
The family would like to express their extreme gratitude to Maple Woods Manor and Compassus Hospice for the loving and excellent care they provided to Kathryn over the past few years.
