ALLIS, Karen I. – of Clio, age 78, died Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at her residence with family by her side. Funeral services will be held 1PM Friday, April 13, 2018 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Burial in Woodlawn Cemetery. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Thursday from 3PM until 8PM and on Friday from 12PM until the time of service at 1PM. Memorial contributions may be made to Kindred Hospice.
Karen was born May 24, 1939 in Flint, Michigan to Eric and Edith (Keyser) Swanson. She graduated from Clio High School in 1957. Karen married Herbert E. Allis on May 24, 1958 in Clio. They enjoyed many happy years together. She worked with the city elections for many years and was a member of the Vasa Club, and Order of the Eastern Star – Vienna Chapter #283. Karen enjoyed needle point, sewing, playing cards, and golfing. She was also a wonderful cook. Above all, Karen loved spending time with her family.
Surviving are: Husband, Herb Allis; Children: James (Tracy) Allis, Kristy (Bob) Dell, and Kurt Allis; 10 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren with one on the way; Brother, Eric (Carol) Swanson and Dale Geddes; Sisters: Diane (Al) Matthewson, and Denise Geddes; Many other loving family members and friends. Karen was also preceded in death by her: Father, Eric Swanson; Mother, Edith Geddes, and sister, Ann Ervin.
