McGLINCHEY, Russell L. “Bud” of Grand Blanc, age 88, died Monday, October 29, 2012 peacefully in his sleep at Genesys Hospice in Goodrich.
Funeral service will be held at 2pm Thursday, November 1, 2012 at Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Father Gary L. McInnis officiating.
Burial will be in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 W. Hill Road, Flint, on Wednesday October 31st from 3-9pm and Thursday from noon until time of service at 2pm.

Russ was born August 18, 1924 to the late Fred LeRoy McGlinchey and Amey Helen Sisco McGlinchey and lived in the Flint area most of his life. He was united in marriage to Mary Jane Vallaincourt, she preceded him in death in 1991. Russ spent the final years of his life with Fran Nicol. They enjoyed traveling throughout the United States. Russ worked for the Grand Blanc Tank Plant during WW II, Jewel Tea Company, King Cigar, and retired as a Service Manager from GMC Quality Truck, Flint. Russ was an avid outdoorsman, fisherman, and hunter, as well as a skilled woodworker. He spent many enjoyable hours fishing, hunting pheasants and whitetail deer, and crafting projects from wood. Surviving are partner Fran Nicol, sons Jeffrey (Susan) of Clio, Mark (Tammy) of Peoria, Az., Matt (Wendy) of Loveland, Oh., grandchildren Molly, Brady and Kyle of Arizona, Sarah and Nathan of Ohio, Sister Donna York, Flint. He was preceded death by siblings: Fred, Ellen and Helen.
