SLY, Gerald David “Moe” - of Montrose, age 69, was called to play a game of cards in heaven on Thursday, September 14, 2017 at his residence. Cremation has taken place. No services are scheduled.
Gerald was born August 27, 1948 in Flint, Michigan to the late Ernest and Dorothy (Salgat) Sly. He graduated in 1966 from Southwestern High School in Flint. Gerald married Bonnie Lamb in Davison, Michigan on April 8, 1967. He worked for AC Spark Plug for 41 years, retiring in 2006. Gerald enjoyed bowling, playing cards every week with family, and especially spending time and traveling with his grandchildren. He also loved to participate in the annual Sly-Freeman Softball game every year.
Surviving are: Wife of 50 years, Bonnie Sly; Children: Michelle (Thomas) Holmes; Melody (J.R.) Sly; Grandchildren: Abby Holmes, Carley Holmes, Zachary Holmes, Joshua Kohler, and Thomas Bauter; Brothers: Ernest (Carol) Sly Jr., Ken (Janet) Sly, Fred (Pennie) Sly, James (Renee) Sly, and Herbert Sly; Sisters-in-law: Becky West, Peggy (Jack) Parker-Mitchell, Shelby Hensley, and Beth Sly.
