DRAVES, Velna M. – Of Flint, age 98, died Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at Avalon Hospice. She will be reunited with Louis C. Draves, her husband of 70 years at Great Lakes National Cemetery.
Per her wishes, cremation has taken place.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Avalon Hospice, 2360 Stonebridge Drive, Flint, MI 48532.
Mrs. Draves was born in Flint, Michigan on August 10, 1914, daughter of the late George and Sadie (McCorkle) Wheaton.
Surviving are children, Carolyn (Jerry) Mautz,
Christine (Gary) O'Brien and
Martin (Lenora) Draves;
grandchildren, Chip (Kelley) Mautz,
Jon Mautz,
Joe (Kathy) Draves,
Pamela (Will) Caskey,
Jennifer (Tony) Abdella
and Gary O'Brien Jr.;
great-grandchildren, Kara Mautz, Haley Mautz and Silas Caskey;
brother, Richard (Betty) Wheaton of Arizona.
She was preceded in death by sister, Iola Werkheiser.
