TINNIN, Steven Alva - Age 64, of Flushing, died Wednesday, October 16, 2019. Funeral services will be held at 11AM Monday, October 20, 2019 at Sharp Funeral Homes, Miller Road Chapel, 8138 Miller Road, Swartz Creek. Burial will be immediately following at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, MI. Visitation will be held 2 PM-8 PM on Sunday and 10 AM until the time of service Monday. In lieu of flowers those desiring may make memorial contributions to Ennis Center for Children, or Team "Buddy" Braden Miller Foundation. Steven was born May 23, 1955 in Flint, MI the son of Mabin Alva and Birdie Geraldine (McBride) Tinnin. He married Dee Ann Visser on August 21, 1976 in George, Iowa and they have spent the last 43 years in Flushing raising their family. Steve proudly served his country in the U.S. Army serving three years active and was in the reserves for twelve years. Steven was employed by GM retiring after 29 years. Steven loved being "Big" Papa, and spending time with his grandchildren the most. He also loved spending time at his hunting property, and at the cottage up north. He brought laughter into a life that we all to often take too seriously. Surviving are: wife, Dee Ann of Flushing; children, Steven Alva Tinnin II, and Heather Ann Cardinal; grandchildren, Garratt Tinnin, Mabrey Cardinal, and Kayden Tinnin; siblings, Dale (Irene) Tinnin, Lanny (Kay) Tinnin, and Donna Tinnin; many nieces and nephews, numerous cousins, and many friends.
