SMETHWICK, Betty – of Flint, age 89, passed away on Tuesday, July 23, 2024. A Funeral Service will be held 1 PM Friday, July 26, 2024 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison; Pastor Bud Welton officiating. Interment will take place following the service in Sunset Hills Cemetery. The family will receive visitors from 11 AM until time of Service at 1 PM on Friday.
Betty was born in Spartanburg, SC on August 17, 1934, daughter of the late Harold and Annie (Atkins) Davis. She married Donald Smethwick on May 5, 1955, and he preceded her in death on November 24, 2014. Betty was a devoted housewife and mother. Friends loved to gather around her kitchen table as she was an excellent cook and amazing baker. Betty enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and visiting her sister in Miami, FL. She was a long-time member of New Testament Baptist Church.
Betty is survived by her sons, Bart (Sue), Bryan (Vicki) and Barry; grandchildren, Amy, Shane, Briana, Brittany, Brandon and Mariah; six great-grandchildren; many other loving family members and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death by her sister, Dorothy Kimmons; brothers, Harold Davis and Leon Davis.
