HOLDORF, Marvin Charles – Of Grand Blanc, age 69, died Thursday, August 1, 2013 at Genesys Regional Medical Center.
Funeral service will be held 12 p.m. Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road,
Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery at 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 6, 2013.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the VFW Post #822.
Visitation 1-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Marvin was born in Flint, Michigan on September 10, 1943, the son of the late Walter and Maxine (Rogers) Holdorf.
He was a Veteran of the United States Army and served during the Vietnam War.
On February 9, 1999 he married Katherine Johnson in Las Vegas, Nevada.
He was a member of the Burton Eagles Post #3814, and the VFW Post #822.
Marv was a generous caring man. You could always find him giving or doing for others. Family and friends will surely miss all of his cooking and grilling talents.
Mr. Holdorf retired from GM SPO on April 19, 2004, as a forklift driver after 43 years of service.
Surviving are wife, Kathy;
lifetime friend, Charlie Bourdage;
brothers, Dan (Cathy) Holdorf and Melvin Holdorf;
sister, Dee Hart;
several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Donald Holdorf.
