BAILEY, Billy R. - Of Mt. Morris, age 94, died Sunday, May 25, 2014 at his residence.
Funeral service will be held 11am Thursday, May 29, 2014 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, MI.
Pastor Gary A. Curell officiating.
Burial in Flint Memorial Park with a military graveside service under the auspices of the Marine Corps League Flint Detachment #155 Honor Guard.
Visitation 1-8pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
Billy was born in Warsaw, Indiana on October 22, 1919. Billy served in the Army Air Corp during World War II, achieving the rank of 1st Lieutenant. Billy owned and operated Paramount Industries, Inc. which he started in 1947, retiring in the late 1980’s. He was a charter member of Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA), as well as a longtime member of the Illuminating Engineering Society (IES) and Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA). On December 31, 1998 he married Lillian. He enjoyed flying, boating, fishing, golfing, gardening and poetry. At the age of 93, Bill self-published a book of poetry titled “Thoughts in Rhyme”. Most important was his faith and family.
Surviving are wife, Lillian;
children, Jan Fewins and husband Derryl, Craig Bailey and wife Linda and Virginia and Loren Crandall;
grandchildren, Jenni, Brian, Katie, Marlena, Rick, Mike, David, Jodie, Darci and Kelly;
many great and great great-grandchildren
and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Juanita J., daughter, Phyllis, granddaughter, Candice, sister, Neva and brother, Leland.
