William “Bill” Murray Westenbarger, 61, passed away July 18, 2017. He was born August 8, 1955 in Chicago, Illinois to John and Betty (Mcfarlane) Westenbarger. He lived the majority of his life in Flint and the surrounding areas where he met many wonderful friends. A longtime member of Richfield Road UB Church, his integrity and love of God were known to anyone that knew him. An avid runner, Bill was a proud member of two state championship cross country teams at Kearsley High school and was inducted into the Kearsley Sports Hall of Fame in 2016. He worked at Fisher Body and later was a manager at Walmart. He was a loving father who raised 3 sons, and he was a wonderful and loving Grandpa, Baga, and Papa to all of his grandchildren. He passed along his love of the the Lions, Tigers, Wolverines, and Red Wings. Bill was known for his consistent positive outlook on life and determined attitude toward everything. He was an inspiration to many. He is survived by his sons, Jaime (Hillary) Westenbarger, Anthony (Joana) Westenbarger, and Gregory (Ashley) Westenbarger; grandchildren: Kaylee, Aiden, Brendan, Peyton, Alec, Ava, Brantley, Maddox, and Ryker; mother Betty Westenbarger; sisters: Gail Ricketts and Ruth (Michael) Hall; nieces: Elizabeth (Branson Skinner) and Erica Ricketts former wife Cheryl Blank; special family friend Linda Roberts and her two sons, Ryan and Kevin; aunt: Grace Mcfarlane. He was preceded in death by his father John Westenbarger. The family would like to thank all of the amazing people in his life who helped in so many ways. We are eternally grateful. A funeral service will be held Saturday July 22nd, 2017 at 10am at Richfield Road Church (6259 Richfield Rd. Flint, MI 48506). Pastors Bill Blue and Steve Malson officiating. Visitation will be Friday from 12-3pm and 5-8pm at Brown Funeral Home (1480 E. Hill Rd, Grand Blanc) and from 9-10am on Saturday prior to the service. Memorial Contributions may be made to Richfield Road Church. |
