Geneva “Jenny” Lavine Johnson, age 90 of Flint, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family and her constant companion, Max on Monday, September 30, 2019. She was born on July 10, 1929 in Flint to parents Dewey and Lillian (Brennecke) Jones. On December 21, 1946 she married the love of her life, Oscar Johnson, who preceded her in death. Jenny was a waitress at Howard Johnson’s for many years and took pride in her work. She also enjoyed her time working as a nanny. She was a member of Woodside Church of Flint. Jenny loved the flowers and birds in her yard, watching Westerns, and shopping – especially at the Dollar Tree. She celebrated her 90th birthday by having seven parties! More than anything, she loved her family and her faithful companion, Max. Jenny is survived by her children: Don (Dawn) Johnson, Pam Johnson, and Dee (Lin) Johnson; grandchildren: Amy (Troy) Bolin, and Jennifer D’Aigle; seven great grandchildren; brother, James (Carol) Jones; caregiver, Sue Meister; and her dog, Max. She was preceded in death by husband, Oscar Johnson; son, Oscar Johnson, Jr.; grandson, Matt Johnson. A funeral service will be held at 12pm on Friday, October 4, 2019 at Hill Funeral Home, 11723 S. Saginaw St., Grand Blanc. Rev. Jay Cummings officiating. Visitation will take place on Thursday, October 3, 2019 from 3-7:30pm. Interment at Crestwood Memorial Cemetery. Those desiring to make a memorial contribution may do so to Woodside Church of Flint in Jenny’s name. |
