CRAIG, Charles Bruce - Of Englewood, FL, formerly of Flint, age 88, passed away on Friday, December 5, 2014 at Sunset Lake Nursing Home in Venice, FL.
Funeral service will be held 11:30am Thursday, December 11, 2014
at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,
Reverend Karen Williams officiating.
Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Make-A-Wish Foundation or Wounded Warriors.
Visitation 1-8pm Wednesday and 9am Thursday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Bruce was born in Woodstock, Ontario, Canada on March 30, 1926 to the late Charles and Florence (Burrus) Craig. Bruce served in the Canadian Navy during World War II. A resident of Charlotte County since 1997 coming from Flint, MI he retired from General Motors in 1981 after 32 years. A Presbyterian by faith, he was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose 1933 and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #3885 both of Englewood and the Royal Canadian Legion. Bruce loved building and flying model airplanes, fishing and dancing. He was a member of EAA (Experimental Aircraft Association).
Surviving are daughter, Pamela (Rick) Hall of Durand, MI, two sons, Rodney (Debi) Craig of Davison, MI, Michael (Sandy) Craig of Burton, MI;
his companion, Pauline Allen of Englewood, FL;
four grandchildren, Todd (Betsy) and Tony (Kelly) Craig, Brian (Kris) and Shawn (Niki) Hall;
and nine great-grandchildren, Sydney, Savanna, Erin, Chloe and Carson Craig and Nick, Nathan, Karli and Morgan Hall.
Bruce was preceded in death by his wife, Marian Ervin Craig and sister, Florence Hutchinson.
