HARRINGTON, Orville Owen - Of Flint, age 96, died Saturday, December 22, 2012 AT Avalon Hospice.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, time of service to be announced.
Burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
Visitation 5-8PM Sunday at the funeral home.
Orville was born in Belding, Michigan on October 1, 1916 and was a resident of the Flint area for many years. He was a member of UAW Local 598. Mr. Harrington was employed by AC Spark Plug Division for 5 years before transferring to Chevrolet Assembly where he worked for 31 years, retiring in 1978. It was there that Orville worked on the original 1953 Corvette in Flint. He enjoyed woodworking and square and round dancing. Orville was a self-taught computer geek.
Surviving are wife, Madeline;
Children, Orville Lee and wife Rose, Helen Sue and husband Oather McPherson, Marlene Reen and Sandy;
8 Grandchildren;
11 Great-grandchildren;
3 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Clare and Ida Belle Harrington; 2 sisters and 3 brothers.
