CONLEY, William J. - of Clio, age 87, died Wednesday, January 8, 2020, at Fostrian Manor in Flushing. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Celebration will be held at 4:30PM on Thursday, January 16, 2020 at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Thursday from 3:30PM until the time of service at 4:30PM. Following will be a time for light refreshments and fellowship.
William was born March 23, 1932 in Flint, Michigan to the late Henry and Ingrid (Johnson) Conley. He graduated from Clio High School and served in the U.S. Navy for 4 years. William worked for Michigan Bell as a lineman for over 30 years before retiring in 1992. He was very passionate about golf, especially after retirement when he had 4 hole in ones. William could typically be found on the golf course playing every day he possibly could. He and Mary made a yearly trip to Gulf Shores, Alabama to continue the golf season, January through March. William was meticulous about the condition of his household yard and the cleanliness of his automobiles. He attended the local methodist churches. William loved his children and grandchildren dearly.
Surviving are: Wife, Mary Conley; Son, Gene Conley (Stacey Tucker) of Dallas, Texas; Daughter, Joni (George) Prout of Flint; Grandchildren: Courtney Lauer (Larry), Alison Sari (Brandon), Jordan Conley, and Ashley McBride; Great-grandchildren: Alexandria Sari, Wyatt Sari, Cole Lauer, and Sienna Lauer; Sister, Mary Dugalech; Brother, Harlan (Carol) Conley; Special family: Peggy Darrah of Plymouth, and Margaret Conley.
