MACDONALD, Linda K. - Of Grand Blanc, age 66, died Saturday, October 1, 2011 at her residence after a 2 year battle with melanoma cancer.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 4, 2011 at Holy Family Catholic Church, 11824 South Saginaw Street, Grand Blanc, Father Jonathon Perrotta saying the funeral Mass.
Burial in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Comprehensive Cancer Center at U of M or Genesys Hospice in Goodrich. Linda was born in Flint, MI, January 24, 1945, the daughter of Harold and Betty (Cruickshank) Lee. Linda married Edward (Ned) MacDonald at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Flint, MI, on July 22,1967. Linda had three careers. She retired after working 13 years at Chevrolet Manufacturing in Accounts Payable in 1979 to spend time raising her daughter Laurie, the second love of her life. She returned to work in 1988 at Farnumwood Presbyterian Church as Administrative Secretary where church members became her extended family, retiring after 18 years in 2006. Linda was a lifelong sports nut, enjoyed watching U of M football in the Big House and with daughter Laurie attended U of M women's football boot camp with Lloyd Carr in 2003. She loved the Detroit Lions, Piston’s Bad Boys and Detroit Tigers who she started watching with her grandpa Cruickshank in the 50's. Linda enjoyed traveling with the family and lunches, dinners and parties with family and friends. Surviving are husband of 44 years, Ned MacDonald of Grand Blanc; daughter Laurie, and her husband Brian Whitehouse; grand bulldog Taz of Chicago, IL;
sisters, Bonnie and husband Charlie Gregory of Farmington Hills, Janice and husband Tom Anderson of Lake City; brother, Dennis and wife Nance Lee of National City, MI.
