HOLMES, Glen Ray - Age 67, of Burton, formerly of Arbyrd, MO, passed away October 19, 2013 at Gentiva Hospice Care, Flint. Funeral services will be held 4:00PM Wednesday, October 23, 2013 at Sharp Funeral home and Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Rd., Flint, with Elder Bill Maguffee officiating. Visitation will be held from 12PM until the time of service Wednesday. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to the family. Mr. Holmes was born March 1, 1946 in Arbyrd, Missouri, the son of the late Ray and Beryl (Branum) Holmes. He married JoAnn Cook on November 27, 1965, she preceded him in death on February 14, 2011. Glen served in the US Marine Corps Reserves from 1964 to 1971 and worked for General Motors from 1964 to 1995. He was a member of UAW local 598 and recently became a member of the Swartz Creek Church of Christ. Surviving are: his daughter, Margie Tinnin; granddaughter, Mallory (Joshua) Holmes; grandson Joshua Tinnin; great grandson Jameson, son- in- law Billy Palmer; brothers, Pete Holmes of Burton, Lowell Holmes of Kennett, MO; sister's, Bernita (Louis) Abbey of Flint, Alice Sides of Grand Blanc, Sue Lands of Paragould AR. Glen was also preceded in death by daughter Angela Palmer on September 18, 2011 and brother Jim Holmes. Tributes may be shared on the obituaries page of www.sharpfuneralhomes.com. |
