STANDEN, Dorothy L. - Of Flint, age 83, passed away Thursday, November 26, 2015 at McLaren-Flint.
Funeral service will be held 11am Monday, November 30, 2015 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,
Mr. Jim Mays officiating.
Burial in Flint Memorial Park.
Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Heart Association.
Visitation 1-8pm Sunday and 10am Monday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Dorothy was born in Alpena, MI, on March 22, 1932, the daughter of the late Guy and Hattie (Smith) VanNatter. On October 27, 1956, she married Ralph W. Standen, he passed away on January 11, 2009. Dorothy loved to play bingo and cards. She was an avid Detroit Tigers Fan and loved game shows, including Steve Harvey’s Family Feud. Dorothy loved her family and all the family/friends get togethers. She also loved her extended family and friends at Woodhaven.
Surviving are children, Sue (Don) Neumann, Tammy (Terry) Weber, David Standen and Joanne (Ronnie) Sizemore;
grandchildren, Angela Weber, Kori (Hui Tipton) Wilson, Steven (Ashley) Wilson and Melissa Weber;
great-grandchildren, Stacia and Aiden Tipton and Landen Wilson;
many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by daughter-in-law, Brenda Standen, brother Carl, sisters, Inez and Millie and very close like a granddaughter, Christy.
The family would like to thank the staff at Hurley Neuro ICU and a special thank you to Select Care at McLaren.
