KELTS, Atwood – of Davison, age 94, passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2024 at Charter Senior Living of Davison. A Funeral Liturgy will be held 1 PM Thursday, June 13, 2024 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Rev. Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski officiating. Interment will be in Davison Cemetery. The family will welcome visitors from 4-7 PM on Wednesday, June 12, 2024 at Allen Funeral Home. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, in Atwood’s memory.
Atwood was born in Boyne City, MI on May 19, 1930, son of the late Norman and Anna (Houck) Kelts. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1948-1949. Atwood married Joan Fortune on September 15, 1950 and she preceded him in death on December 25, 2018. Atwood retired from GM after many years of service. He enjoyed woodcarving, farming and going to the gym with his friends. Atwood had a passion for anything that involved the water and spending time with his friends sailing. He also enjoyed playing music, especially playing the guitar and harmonica. He passed along his passion for music to his children and grandchildren. Atwood was loved by all and will be greatly missed.
Atwood is survived by his loving children, Joan (Jon) Whitman, Beth (Carl) Archambeau, Jack (Ginny) Kelts, Kenneth (Teresa) Kelts, Sharon (Vicki) Kelts, Judith Kelts, Mitzi (Tim) Fromwiller, Lori (John) Cornack, Melanie (Bill) Morey, Julie Williams, Andre Kelts and Charlene (Eric) Lundy; 17 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; brother, Donald (Patricia) Fick; and many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by sons, Robert Norman Kelts on April 9, 1976 and Joel Thomas Kelts on December 24, 2017; grandson, Bryan Williams; three brothers; four sisters.
