PALMQUIST, Frank Robert Jr. “Bob” – of New Lothrop, formerly Montrose, age 82, died Thursday, June 27, 2019 at Ascension Genesys Hospital of Grand Blanc. Funeral services will be held at 2PM Monday, July 1, 2019 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose. Pastor Kevin Moses officiating. Cremation to follow. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Monday from 11AM until the time of service at 2PM. Memorial contributions may be made to the Multiple Myeloma Research Foundation or the American Lung Association.
Bob was born May 29, 1937 in Flint, Michigan to the late Frank and Mary (Brazeal) Palmquist Sr. He married Gloria Dunlap in September of 1959. She preceded him in death June 9, 1977. Bob later married Mary McNiel-Green on September 11, 1982. Mr. Palmquist is a U.S. Navy Seabee Veteran. He retired from GM Truck & Bus in 1992 with 30 years seniority and was a member of the UAW Local #598. Bob enjoyed woodworking, bowling, fishing, boating, and antique auctions. He also enjoyed traveling the country with his wife, Mary. Bob loved watching the Detroit Tigers and Michigan State Spartans.
Surviving are: Wife, Mary Palmquist; Children: Craig Herrick, Scott (Theresa) Herrick, Ross (Lori) Green, Lance Green, Melissa (Don) Green, Dawn (Harry) Kwiatkowski, Robert Palmquist (Sue), Michelle (Dennis) Cooper, Bret Green (Charlotte); Grandchildren: Gloria, Kristen, Rachel, Megan, Nick, Erik, Jake, Sara, Lisa, Jill, Michelle, Kevin, Justin, Travis, Mikayla, Joshua, Amber, Amanda, and Madison; Many great grandchildren; Sister, Phyllis Smith; Brother, Richard (Barbara) Palmquist; Many nieces and nephews; Close friends: Jamie and Michelle Moriarity, and Kate Burry; Loving furry companion, Ruby.
