Helen Alice Zemcik
Age 83 of Owosso passed away Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at Welcome Home Assisted Living.
A Mass of Christian burial will be held 10:30am Saturday, April 30, 2016 at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. Michael O'Brien officiating. Burial will follow at St. Paul Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Nelson-House Funeral Home on Friday from 2 to 8pm with a rosary prayed at 7pm.
Helen was born August 23, 1932 in Owosso, the daughter of John and Josephine (Kasal) Barta.
She graduated from Chesaning High School, class of 1950.
Helen was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She enjoyed tending to her flower and vegetable gardens, canning and polka dancing. She looked forward to bus trips across the United States and taking trips Up North to the family cabin in Higgins Lake. Most of all Helen loved spending time with her family and especially enjoyed attending her grandchildren's activities.
She married Jerry Cyril Zemcik at St. Joseph Catholic Church on September 13, 1958; he predeceased her January 12, 2014
Helen was a homemaker and spent her life caring for her family. She had been employed in her earlier years at Redmonds and later for Tupperware Harvest Sales.
Helen is survived by her sons Dennis Zemcik of Owosso and Ronald (Kathy) Zemcik of Middleton; grandchildren Aaron (Jennifer) Zemcik and Adeline Zemcik; great-grandson Kaden; several nieces, nephews and other loving family members.
She was predeceased by her husband Jerry; siblings Mary Stehlik, Rose Fabus, Dorothy Tomac, Val Barta, John Barta and Walter Barta.
