JONES, Robert Howard - Age 71, of Flint, died Thursday, October 30, 2014. Funeral services will be held 4 PM Wednesday, November 5 at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Flint. Rev. Linda Stoner officiating. Visitation will be held 12 Noon until the time of the service Wednesday. Committal services 1 PM Saturday, November 8 at Flint Memorial Park. Those desiring may make contributions to MCC of Flint or McLaren Hospice.
Robert was born September 2, 1943 in Flint. He worked in quality control at General Motors, retiring with 33 years of service. He was active in many charities including, P Flag, Salvation Army, Toys for Tots, AIDS Walk, Boys and Girls Club, and St. Joseph Indian School. He was a special part of the family at Good Beans Coffee Shop in Flint. He was a charter member of the MCC Church in Flint.
Robert is survived by his life partner Joe Osmon of Flint; brother William (Brenda) Jones of Kentucky; half-sister Polly (Dick) Stohlman of Mt. Morris Township, Myra (Mike) Taylor of Burton; aunt Helen Martan of Flint; four nieces; four nephews; two great-nieces; seven great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his life partner Johnny Dee; father Robert Jones; half-brother Samuel Yoder; step-father, Donald Yoder; mother Elizabeth (Woodring) Yoder; brother Donny Jones; sister, Gloria Ford; nephew Spc. Bradley Shilling;
