Sharon Ann Bila of Chesaning passed away at home at the age of 68. Sharon was a resident of Chesaning most of her life.
A Memorial service will be held at 4:00pm on Friday, October 5, 2018 at Nelson-House Funeral Homes Martin Chapel. A graveside service will follow at Wildwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends that day from 2:00pm until the time of service.
Born on April 14, 1950, she was the daughter of John M. Bila and Mildred M. Swartzmiller (Chludil, Bila). Sharon went to Chesaning schools and graduated in 1968. She enjoyed a career working at Saginaw Steering Gear until her retirement.
Sharon enjoyed many activities throughout her life. Her flowers were her joy. She was an active member of the Chesaning Garden Club for many years. She was also an avid Nascar fan, whether it was yelling at the television or shouting from the stands! Sharon also enjoyed hunting and sailing and spent many years in the Corvette club. Sharon was a member of the ZCBJ Czechoslovakian folk dancing group in Owosso for over twenty years. Her group performed in Washington D.C., Cleveland Ohio, Bannister Michigan, and of course, Owosso Michigan.
Her love of animals was well known in the community, especially her cats. Ever since she was a young girl, she had cats in her arms and her life. The word got out for her love of animals and people would just drop them off because they knew she would take them in and care for them.
Sharon is survived by her sister, Marsha (Bob) Stanuszek; her nephews, Mathew (Melanie) Bila and Patrick Stanuszek; her nieces, Toni Bila and Ellen Bila; and her great-nephews and niece, Kyle, Josh, and Katlyn Stanuszek and Garret, Darren, and Blake Bila.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to the Saginaw Humane Society.
