GREGORY, Carlton R. - of Flint, MI, age 81, passed away Friday, June 9, 2017 at Genesys Health Park, following a brief illness. A Funeral Service will be held 11 AM Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at Our Risen Lord Lutheran Church, 4040 Lapeer Road, Burton, MI 48509; Pastor Susan Lidums officiating. Interment in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 3-8 PM Monday, June 12, 2017 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423 and 10-11 AM Tuesday, June 13, 2017 at Our Risen Lord Lutheran Church. A Masonic Memorial Service will be held 7 PM Monday, June 12, 2017 under the auspices of the Otisville Masonic Lodge #401, F&AM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be to a charity of one’s choice.

Carlton was born in Flint, MI on October 22, 1935, son of the late George and Lena Gregory. He married Beverley Jane Gornicki on October 27, 1962 and she preceded him in death on March 22, 2008. A lifelong resident of Flint, he attended Flint Technology High School, graduating in the Class of 1954. He worked as a tool and die maker skilled trades for General Motors AC Delco, retiring in 1994. Carlton was an active member in the Masonic Paternity. He was a Shriner, part of the Royal Arch Masons and the Past Master of Davison Lodge #236. The last lodge he attended was the Otisville Lodge #401. Carlton loved serving the community and making coffee downstairs for all his Brothers at the Flint Shrine Circus. He was a volunteer with Habitat for Humanity. Carlton was an active member of Our Risen Lord Lutheran Church serving on many committees and always looked forward to being a Greeter on Sunday. He always took comfort serving the Lord. Carlton loved hunting, fishing and spending time Up North at his cabin on Higgins Lake. He loved woodworking and carving duck decoys and shore birds. Carlton enjoyed watching T.V. Westerns and listening to Willie’s Roadhouse. Later in life, Carlton took up 3K competitive walking to stay in shape and help local charities, such as the Crim. He always did well for his age group. Carlton was loved by all and will be deeply missed.

Carlton leaves behind his daughter, Terry (Ted) Koliopoulos; son, Eric (Bethany) Gregory; 4 granddaughters, Nikki and Kristen Koliopoulos, Delynn and Kathleen Gregory; 2 step-granddaughters, Natalie Lin and Nicole Deel; great-granddaughter, Rosalynn; many other loving family members and friends. He was also preceded in death by his son, Mark Gregory; sister, Melba (Hudson) and his first wife, Christine (Horb).
