THORSBY, Lowell T. – of Montrose, age 90, died Thursday, September 5, 2013 at St. Mary’s of Michigan in Saginaw. Funeral services will be 6 PM Tuesday, September 10, 2013 at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose. Rev. Jim Puryear officiating. Cremation to follow. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 1-6 PM. Contributions may be made to Charity Tabernacle Church.
Lowell was born December 1, 1922 in Montrose to the late Thomas and Effie (Alexander) Thorsby and lived in the Montrose area most of his life. He retired from Montrose Community School with 25 years seniority. Lowell enjoyed farming, woodworking and visiting with friends.
Surviving are: longtime friend, Steve (Patricia) Schlicht of Montrose; niece, Susan Hartley of Birch Run; nephews, John Thorsby of FL, Frederick (Kathy) Thorsby of Flushing. He was also preceded in death by: a brother, Fearon Thorsby in 1997; nephew, Howard Thorsby in 1997; and a niece, Mary Hoehn in 2003.
