MINCE, Elizabeth Marie “Betty” – Of Sun City Center, Florida, formerly of Byron, MI, age 86, died Friday, October 19, 2012 at Central Tampa ALS.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, October 26, 2012 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Reverend Harold K. Polk, Jr. officiating.
Burial in Flint Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made for Sun City Emergency Squad, Sun City, FL 33573, Life Path Hospice, 11150 N. 53rd St., Temple Terrace, FL 33617 or charity of one’s choice.
Visitation 1-3 and 5-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Elizabeth was born in Linden, Michigan on November 19, 1925, the daughter of the late Charles and Elizabeth (Coon) Chappell.
She lived in Byron, Michigan for many years and then moved to Sun City Center, Florida.
She married Lee Mince on May 4, 1946.
Betty belonged to the Eastern Star for many years. She loved golfing and entertaining.
Surviving are son, Gary and wife Terry Mince of Oscoda, MI;
daughter, Laura and husband Jim Messer of Sun City Center, Florida;
grandchildren Michael, Michelle, Haley, Jeff and John;
9 great grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brother, Armand and wife Betty Chappell; sister, Dorothy Morse;
several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded by her loving husband of 62 years, Lee, in 2008 and brother-in-law, Jim Morse.
