Elaine Beverly McEwen, 89, of Owosso, passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at Memorial Healthcare in Owosso. Funeral service will be held on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at 1:00pm at Watkins Brothers Funeral Homes, Durand Chapel. Walter Katt will officiate with burial in Wilkinson Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, November 1, 2019 from 6:00pm to 8:00pm.
Elaine was born on March 4, 1930 in Venice Township, Michigan to the late Harry and Edna (White) Brandt. On October 1, 1949 Elaine married Alfred J. McEwen in Flushing, Michigan and together they raised two sons. Elaine enjoyed bird watching, bingo, camping with her family, and playing cards, but her greatest joy was her grandchildren. She was a member of the Byron United Methodist Church and the Durand Senior Center.
Elaine is survived by her two sons; James (Debra) McEwen of Durand, MI. and Douglas (Melanie) McEwen of Centennial, CO. Her grandchildren; Angela Finch of Raleigh, NC. Thomas (Megan) McEwen of Durand, MI. Jonathan (Nicole) McEwen of Hastings, MI. Gregory (Misa) McEwen of Walled Lake, MI. and David McEwen of Centennial, CO. also her great grandchildren; Ivan Finch, Emersyn McEwen, and Dane McEwen.
She was predeceased by her parents, her husband Alfred on October 10, 1994, her brothers; Duane, Glenn, and Lyle. Her sisters; Maretea, Madeline, Geraldine, Carol, Lavon, and Margaret.
Memorial contributions in Mrs. McEwen’s name are suggested to the Byron United Methodist Church, or the Durand Senior Center.
