GIBSON, Deborah K. - Of Grand Blanc, age 55, passed away on Saturday, October 18, 2014 in the comfort of her own home with her family, after a 15 month battle with cancer.
Memorial Visitation will be at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, October 21, 2014.
Cremation has taken place and a Memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at Halsey United Methodist Church, Grand Blanc on the corner of Halsey and Baldwin Road, Reverend David Leineke officiating.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to a charity of one’s choice.
Deborah K. Gibson was born on the twenty sixth day of the month of March during the year of 1959 in Flint, Michigan.
She married her husband, Greg on the property of her parents, Harvey and Nancy Stevens and in the eyes of her friends and family. From riding horses to long nature walks and picture taking Deborah always found ways to appreciate life and all that came with it. From watching her son play hockey and lacrosse to fishing with Greg and getting muddy in the garden, Deborah lived each moment with the brightest smile couple with her ‘Stevens Family Laugh.’ With her kind soul and open mind, Deborah now lives on through her father, Harvey, her husband, Greg, her son, Daniel; her sister, Lori and many other family members, friends, and any acquaintances alike.
We all ask you to allow yourself a piece of her in living a life of giving and respect of everything life offers. We ask that you live each day in pursuit of your legacy and look past the day to day misfortune. There is a deeper understanding of life and the awareness of the potential value you may have and we all, Deborah included, strongly encourage you to find that value.
We would like to thank Dr. Danish and his staff for all of the support and strength they were able to share. We would like to thank Dr. Ron Coriasso and his staff for their long tenure with our family in providing great care and a pleasant environment throughout our time. We would like to thank Rebecca and Marica from Home & Hospice Advantage in Flint, MI. Lastly, we would like to thank everyone from Adelaide Australia to right here in Grand Blanc, MI for their kind words and support, Deborah and her family couldn’t have done any of it without you.
