PEEK, Duane V. “Du” – Of Grand Blanc, age 90, died Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at his residence.
Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 31, 2014 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Father Steve Anderson officiating.
Visitation 1-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Duane was born in Carrollton, Michigan, on November 21, 1923 to Cecil and Belle (Asseline) Peek. Mr. Peek lived in the Flint area most of his life.
He married Janice E. Paulic in Flint, Michigan on November 8, 1949 and she preceded him in death on July 25, 1999.
Mr. Peek was a fireman for the City of Flint Fire Department for many years. He was a member of the Croatian Club and the Genesee Hills Golf Club.
Surviving are son, Vince (Sharon) Peek;
daughter, Deborah Cook;
grandchildren, Greg (Patti) Peek II, Kelly (Fred) Meyers, Stacey Peek, Jeanne Marie Peek, Darrin (Wendy) Cook, Dan Cook and Don Cook;
great-granddaughters, Mackenzie, Allison and Megan;
great-grandsons, Riley, Tyler and Antonio;
sisters, Mae Peek and Arlene Johnson.
He was preceded in death by wife, Janice E. Peek; son, Gregory E. Peek; daughter-in-law, Brenda Peek; son-in-law, Dave Cook; parents, Cecil and Belle Peek; sisters and brothers, Thelma Bostwick, Evelyn Wilson, Gladys Kulpa, Jack Peek, Tom Peek and Emerson Peek.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Craig Dolven, family physician and the staff at Genesys DaVita Dialysis for their extreme patience and wonderful care of “Peeke”.
