BILLEY, Vera Ruth – of Flint, age 90, passed away July 30, 2018 at Genesys Health Park. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Gathering will be held from 2-5 PM Saturday, August 4, 2018 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Flint.
Vera was born in Saskatchewan, Neville, Canada on November 7, 1927, daughter of the late John and Ethel (Ivall) Miller. She married Eugene Billey on December 30, 1950 in Prince Albert. She lived in Marquette, Flint and Royal Oak before settling in Davison to raise their family. Vera was a bookkeeper for Big Brothers Big Sisters.
Vera is survived by her husband, Gene; children, Brenda Lee Swartz, Graham (Kathy) Billey, Stuart (Laurie) Billey and Marrianne Billey; grandkids, Kevin Swartz (Colleen Walsh), Jonathan (Ginny) Swartz, Stuart D. Billey (Katie Soring), Sarah Billey, Graham Billey, Jr., Emily (Zach) Harvey and Sam (Zainab) Billey; great-grandchildren, Kaya Sloman and Silvon Carpenter IV; sisters, Lorna Anderson and Joyce Rice; sister-in-law, Jacque Carlson; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by sister, Joan Stollar.
