It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Patricia Ann (Plumb) Freund at the age of 61. She was a beloved wife, mother, Grammy, Godmother and cherished friend. She touched countless lives with her strength, warmth and unwavering generosity. Patti passed away on March 24, 2025 after an eleven-year battle with kidney cancer. She was surrounded by her loving family and is leaving a legacy of resilience and love that will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her.
Patti was born on September 19, 1963 to Kenneth and Peggy Plumb. A true redhead in both appearance and personality, she was known for her boundless energy. She was a star athlete in basketball and softball at Grand Blanc High School where she recognized the importance of teamwork, perseverance, and leadership - values she carried throughout her life. Patti was a pillar of strength and compassion, always thinking of her family and friends before herself.
Patti shared 38 wonderful years of marriage with her husband Craig, who undoubtedly was the love of her life. Together, they built a home centered around faith, love and strong values. Patti was the ultimate supporter, cheerleader and role model for their four children, Ashley, Michael, Lindsey and Kendra. Her role as “Grammy” to her three granddaughters, Sophia, Vivienne and Elliana, was most important to her in recent years, months and days.
Patti dedicated much of her professional life to caring for others. She worked as a dental assistant before making the heartfelt decision to accompany Lindsey as her aide at school. This choice eventually led to Patti becoming the Director of Extended Care at Holy Family School in Grand Blanc. In this role, she was deeply respected by colleagues and adored by the children she cared for. Her warmth and dedication left a lasting impact on all who knew “Miss Patti” within the Holy Family community.
Her memory will be forever cherished by her husband, Craig; children - Ashley (Charles), Michael (Erica), Lindsey and Kendra (Nick); grandchildren – Sophia, Vivienne and Elliana; the Aagesen Family; the Amer Family; and the Zaliagiris Family. She also leaves behind two sisters, two brothers, aunts and cousins.
Patti was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Peggy Plumb.
Rest in peace, Patti. You will be forever loved and missed by all whose lives you touched.
