BOROWICZ, Stephen John - Age 86, of Swartz Creek, died Saturday, November 28, 2015. Funeral Mass will be celebrated 11 AM Tuesday, December 1 at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 3139 Hogarth Ave., Flint., Fr. Robert Copeland celebrant. Entombment will follow at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Flint. Visitation will be held 2-8 PM Monday at Sharp Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 6063 Fenton Road, Flint with a 7 PM Scripture service followed by 7:30 PM Knight of Columbus service. Visitation 10-11 AM Tuesday at the church. Those desiring may make contributions to St. Pius X Catholic Church or the Patrick Kelley Van Fund (checks payable to Tim Kelley.)
Stephen was born August 29, 1929 in Cheboygan, the son of Louis and Cecelia (Brovage) Borowicz. He was a veteran of U. S. Army. Stephen married Joyce McGovern on November 11, 1950 in Cheboygan. He worked at Buick Motor Division retiring in 1988 with 38 years of service. He was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus St. Pius Council 8245. He enjoyed golf, bowling and traveling.
Surviving are his wife, Joyce; children, Lucinda (Dennis) McNea of Burton, Lorraine (Ron) Boehmer of Sterling Heights; grandchildren, Charles (Jennifer) Metcalfe, Leslie Metcalfe, Jessica Metcalfe, Melissa Hatchew, Timothy (Annie) Kelley, Teri (Tony) Wiley; six great-grandchildren, Candace, Avery, Patrick, Jameson, Joshua, and Abby; five brothers, Leo (Joyce), Joseph (Arlee), Edmund (Judy), Sylvester (Elaine), David (Lorraine); several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Mark Borowicz and three brothers, Ben, Paul, and Tom.
