NAMENYE, Katie – of Davison, MI, age 37, passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2024. A Funeral Service be held 11 AM Thursday, April 18, 2024 at Trinity Lutheran Church, 706 W. Flint Street, Davison, MI 48423; Pastor Todd Frusti officiating. Cremation will take place following the service. The family will receive visitors from 4-6 PM on Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423. There will be one hour of visitation on Thursday at Trinity Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Ronald McDonald House, Elmer Knopf Learning Center or Trinity Lutheran Church.
Katie Namenye was born on Feb 21, 1987 to loving parents, Dave and Sharon Namenye. During her early years, her life was blessed by Gloria Guest, who cared for Katie like she was her own daughter. She attended Elmer Knoph Learning Center and graduated in 2013, when she was named prom queen. After graduating, Katie enjoyed dance classes at Dance Academy De La dance with her dance instructor, Miss Holly, and many of her dance friends.
In February of 2013, she moved to Granada where she dazzled new friends and new caregivers, especially Sarah, Lena, Crystal, and Sylvia, as well as several other helpers with her bubbly personality. She spent her time listening to music, trying new foods, doing crafts, and her favorite past time, shopping.
Katie is survived by her parents, Dave and Sharon Namenye; her sisters, Kristin (Paul) Cannon and Kim (Tim) Miller and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
