YOUNG, Ben C. - Of Flint, age 81, died Tuesday, May 17, 2016
at his residence.
Funeral service will be held 2pm Thursday, May 19, 2016 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint.
Burial in Flint Memorial Park with military honors under the auspices of VFW #3087 Honor Guard.
Visitation 10am Thursday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Ben was born in Sparta, North Carolina on September 9, 1934. He married Betty Edmonson on November 27, 1981 in North Carolina and she preceded him in death on December 11, 2005. He proudly served in the United States Army. Ben retired from General Motors in 1989.
Surviving are daughters, Ronda and husband Thomas Black, Judy and husband Charles Haller, Alecia and husband Robert Hellems and Michele Young-Matheson;
11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren;
3 great-great-grandchildren;
brother, Ted Young of Delaware;
several nieces and nephews.
