NICHOLS, Vera Evelyn - Age 96, went to be with her Lord on October 2, 2020. There will be a family graveside service at Sunset Hills Cemetery with Pastor Jack Dowden officiating and a well-deserved celebration of life at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Emmanuel Baptist Church or the Salvation Army. Vera was born on July 17, 1924 in Flint, MI and was a graduate of Flint Central High School. She worked at AC Spark Plug until her retirement. Vera was a faithful member of Asbury Methodist Church for over 70 years, and recently of Emmanuel Baptist Church, where she was welcomed with open hearts. Vera enjoyed church activities, knitting, making Cornish baked goods and she loved children. Vera is survived by her niece, Julie (Nichols) Sears and husband Kent; two great-nieces, Kelly and Jenna Nichols and their mother, Beth; sister-in-law, Joyce Nichols; very special friend, Ed Nicholls and his family; as well as many, many friends who loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Martin and Evelyn Nichols; brother, John; and nephew, Joel. The family would like to thank Fostrian Court of Flushing for the outstanding care they have given Vera over the past several months.
