SWARTZ, Gerald “Jerry” - Of Flint, age 85, died Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at St. Mary’s of Michigan in Saginaw with his family by his side.
Funeral service will be held at 1:30pm Saturday, March 30, 2013 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road,
Burial in Crestwood Cemetery.
Those desiring may make contributions to the Carmen Ainsworth Senior Center.
Visitation 1-3pm and 5-8pm Friday and 10an Saturday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Jerry was born in LaPorte, Indiana on May 13, 1927, the son of Charles and Reva Swartz. He served in the United States Army.
He married Donna Buffey in 1950 in Michigan City, Indiana and she preceded him in death on September 13, 2012. He was a member of Community Presbyterian Church and Carman-Ainsworth Senior Center. He enjoyed bowling and hunting. Jerry retired from Buick Motor Division after 42 years of service and was a member of UAW Local 599.
Surviving are children, Gail (William) Clark,
Nancy (Charles) Moser,
Patti Dean and
Brian (Donna) Swartz;
grandchildren, William G. Clark, Renee Jaco, David Dean, Laura, Erica and Wesley Swartz;
brother, Lee and wife Helen Swartz;
He was preceded in death by his wife, Donna, parents, grandson, Chad Clark and sisters, Mickey and Lela Mae.
