McDANIEL, Jean C. (Smith) – of Davison, MI, age 86, passed away on Friday, July 12, 2024, surrounded by her family. A Funeral Service will be held 1 PM Friday, July 19, 2024 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison, MI 48423; Pastor Kristen LePalm officiating. Interment immediately following the service in Davison Cemetery. The family will receive visitors 11 AM-1 PM Friday, July 19, 2024 at Allen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
Jean was born in Flint, MI on November 22, 1937, daughter of the late Byron and Annabelle (Kidd) Smith. She married Richard McDaniel on June 14, 1958 and he preceded her in death on January 25, 2020. Jean was an avid quilter and seamstress. She was a Costumier for the Flint Youth Theater sewing costumes and a member of the Morning Star Quilt Guild. Jean was a retired bus driver for Davison Community Schools after 30 years of service.
Jean is survived by her children, Scott McDaniel and Annette (Brien) McDaniel-Fox; grandchildren, Stephanie (Jeremy) Mayer, Joseph Tasson and Riley Fox; great-grandchildren, Levi, Zoe, Grace, Tristin, Addison, Kadence, Joslyn, Brielle and Blake; dearest friend, Char Pierson; many other loving family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her son, David McDaniel and daughter, Cheryl Tasson; great-grandson, Brantley David Mayer.
