CORNWALL, Nancy L. – Of Flint, age 81, died Saturday, January 11, 2014 at McLaren-Flint.
Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Tony Jacobs officiating.
Cremation has taken place.
Visitation 10 a.m. Tuesday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Nancy was born in Flint, Michigan on July 18, 1932, daughter of the late Arthur and Bernetah (Frisbee) Markham.
On March 17, 1951 she married her high school sweetheart, James Cornwall in Flint.
She loved going to sporting events with her kids and her grandchildren.
Nancy loved spending time with all of her children and grandchildren, they were her world.
She was a member of the Grand River Bands of Ottawa Indians. She lobbied for Indian education in the Carman-Ainsworth School District for many years.
Surviving are husband, James Cornwall;
children, Janice and husband Charles Munro,
Patricia Sand,
Jim and wife Carrie Cornwall,
Connie and husband Tom Gorman;
12 grandchildren, Ken, Amanda, Jaime, Matthew, Nathan, Curtis, Christopher, Courtney, Clint, Joseph, Rachel and Sophie;
13 great-grandchildren and
one great-great-granddaughter.
She was preceded in death by her sister, Betty Keskes and brother, Gordon Markham.
