SHINABARGER, Phillip D. “Phil” - of Montrose, age 48, died Saturday, September 9, 2017 at his residence. Funeral services will be held 11AM, Friday, September 15, 2017 at Mt. Sinai Evangelical Lutheran Church, 11356 Seymour Road in Montrose. Cremation to follow. Pastor Joel Tomford officiating. Family will receive visitors at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose on Thursday from 1PM until 8PM and at the church on Friday from 10AM until the time of service at 11AM. Memorial contributions may be made to Mt. Sinai Evangelical Lutheran Church.
Phil was born March 8, 1969 in Flint, Michigan to Phillip Shinabarger and Vickie Wenzlick. He graduated from Montrose High School in 1987. Phil attended Baker College and Mott Community College, where he earned his associate degree. He worked at Precise Auto in Montrose for 17 years. Phil was a member of Mt. Sinai Evangelical Lutheran Church all his life. He enjoyed fishing, canoeing and most of all, collecting coins and hot wheels cars.
Surviving are: Mother, Vickie Wenzlick; Father, Phillip (Tammy) Shinabarger; Nephew, Noah Shinabarger; Half-brother, Jason Shinabarger; Step sister, Nicole (Chris) Pena; Aunts: Lynn (Scott) VanWagner, Barbara Shinabarger and Ruth Ann Massie, Patricia Shinabarger; Uncles: Larry (Kathi) Parks, Ron (Jeanette) Shanahan, Curtis Shinabarger and Dan (Judy) Shinabarger; Great aunt, Irene Puska and many other nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Tony Shinabarger; Uncle, Delbert Shinabarger and Uncle, Dick Shinabarger.
