SHOULTS, Pastor Felton – Of Burton, age 88, died Monday, October 7, 2019 at his residence.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, October 11, 2019
at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Jon Grimshaw officiating.
Burial in Flint Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Forgotten Man Genesee County Jail Ministry.
Visitation 2-7 p.m. Thursday and 10 a.m. Friday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Felton was born in Lawley, Alabama on September 20, 1931, the son of the late Brooks and Ollie (Lawrence) Shoults.
On February 20, 1951, he married Helen Smith.
He was the Pastor of Victory Tabernacle in Flint.
He also served as a Chaplain in the Genesee County Jail for 34 years.
Pastor Shoults retired from GM Truck Plant in 1984.
Surviving are daughters, Linda Evans, Carol and husband Bob Caldwell and Rose and husband Melvin Hodgeson;
grandchildren, Scott and wife Dormalee Evans, Andrew Hodgeson, Jonathan Hodgeson, Rebekah Hodgeson and Melissa Evans;
great-grandchildren, Carsyn Evans, Felton Evans, Audrey Hodgeson and Willow Irene Hodgeson;
sister-in-law, Shirley O'Brian;
many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen; son-in-law, Ron Evans; grandson, Stephen Evans; brothers, Tommie, Jack and Roy Shoults.
