MILLER, Gerald J. “Jerry” – Of Fenton, age 79, died Saturday, October 6, 2012 at Genesys Regional Medical Center.
Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.
Cremation has taken place.
Those desiring may make contributions to Best Friends Animal Society or Humane Society of Genesee County.
Visitation 5-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Jerry was born in Flint, Michigan on July 8, 1933, the son of Albert and Dessie (Bolin) Miller.
He graduated from RN Mandeville High School in 1951, where he excelled in all sports.
Jerry was in the U.S. Army during the Korean War from 1953-1955.
Jerry was a very avid hunter and fisherman and participated in the World Senior Olympics in Utah in softball and bowling. He loved to travel, camp and was an animal lover.
Jerry hired in at AC Spark Plug Division in 1951, where he worked until he retired some 42 years later.
Surviving, is his very special friend and longtime caregiver, Connie Johnson;
children, Laura Miller,
Patrick Scott Miller and
Julie and husband Dan Wilson;
grandchildren, Jamie and Leslie Johnson,
Alexis and Michael Miller,
Jordan and Ronnie Wilson;
great-grandchildren, Wyatt Carson Wilson;
beloved animals, Dazz-eey and Puddy Cat;
special friend, Nancy Williams.
He was preceded in death by granddaughter, Jessica Hearsch.
