VERMETTE, Virginia Marie – Of Clio, age 92, died Friday, September 13, 2024 at Wellbridge of Grand Blanc.
Funeral service will be held 10am Thursday, September 19, 2024 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint,
Deacon Ron Kenney officiating.
Visitation 1-8pm Wednesday at the funeral home.
Burial in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
Contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Virginia was born in Flint, Michigan on April 29, 1932, the daughter of the late Peter and Mary Asaro. On September 12, 1959, she married Richard “Dick” Vermette and he preceded her in death on July 26, 1995. Virginia worked at Citizens Bank for over 10 years and Clio area schools in the cafeteria for over 20 years. She was proud of her Sicilian heritage and enjoyed singing at family gatherings. Virginia was a former member of St. Charles and Helena. She enjoyed going to casinos, Bingo, playing cards and camping with her “Dick”. She also enjoyed her yearly trips to South Haven with her daughter, sister Rosemary and her nieces. Above all else, she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Surviving are children, Richard (Evelyn) Vermette, Lisa (Jerry) King and Craig (Dawn) Vermette;
Grandchildren, Sarah (Chad) Ireland, Melissa (Bethany) Vermette, Amy (Joseph) Fuoss, Travis (Sarah) Vermette, Courtney (Travis) Deraedt, Austin (Michelle) King and Ashley (Josh) Crawley;
11 great-grandchildren;
And many nieces and nephews.
She was also preceded in death by 9 siblings.
The family extends a special thank you to the staff of Wellbridge of Grand Blanc, including Kevin (aka Victor), Margot, Lynette, Tamara, Marci and Corina.
